John Carlo Vargas (Jc) was born in the late 80s. He was four years old when he first held a chalk and drew a farm with trees, animals and a windmill from his imagination. The son of a sports and showbiz photographer, he developed a fascination for drawing faces and different sceneries from constant exposure to his father's photographs.
In college, Jc wanted to enroll in Fine Arts but since there were no Fine Arts course in PUP, Sta Mesa, he ended up taking BS Architecture. He was active though in all art related activities in his college. Give him any medium and he will not stop until he learns how to handle it.
Jc graduated and earned his degree in Architecture. He also was awarded "PUP BS Architecture's Top 1 Best Thesis of 2011." He passed the Architect's Licensure Examination last July 2013. Architect Jc though still felt the pull of art. While waiting for architectural projects, Jc passed the time honing his skills at watercolor by travelling at the same time painting outdoor sceneries and doing watercolor portraiture as a sideline. From July 2013 up to present, he has done almost 150 commissioned portrait paintings. He has since joined countless exhibits both local and abroad and the most recent exhibit entitled “Dirty Watercolor” made great impact to him and to many.
